In October 2018, Dr. Philip Richardson attended the inaugural Breast Masters Symposium in Sydney, where he delivered two key presentations to share his expert knowledge with surgeons across Australia and abroad. The Breast Masters Symposium invites Australian Specialist Plastic Surgeons and other key players in the plastics industry to present, collaborate, and learn about the complex and skilful art of breast surgery. Over the three days, Dr. Richardson conducted two presentations pertaining to revisional surgery and breast augmentation mastopexy.

The first presentation considered the complex technique of conducting a dermal flap reconstruction to correct bottoming out of implants. As revisional surgery is a key area of expertise for Dr. Richardson, this presentation provided other surgeons with valuable insight into his specific approach, and was accompanied by real surgical footage and a valuable instructional walk-through of the procedure. The second presentation involved a review of Dr. Richardson’s past 100 breast augmentation mastopexies (lift with implants). This was an extremely insightful presentation that considered the Do’s and Don’ts of the procedure, lessons learnt, and optimal techniques and decision-making tools. The talk was followed by a panel of specialist plastic surgeons–including Dr. Richardson–where debate and discussion surrounding approaches ensued, providing valuable knowledge and skills to everyone involved. The conference was a great source of new knowledge to help improve and innovate the service experience here at Brisbane Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery.
