Dr. Milap Rughani is a fully qualified Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon based in Brisbane focused on skin cancer excision and facial reconstruction procedures.
Dr. Rughani undertook his tertiary studies at the the University of Leeds, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (First class Honours), a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery.
He went on to complete his plastic surgery training at Oxford, UK, and is a current member of The Royal College of Surgeons in England FRCS(PLAST) as well as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Surgeons FRACS(PLAST).
Throughout his career, Dr. Rughani has published sixteen research papers and presented his research both domestically and internationally.
Most recently, he has spent the last 5 years as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital where he has performed major surgery for cancer and trauma patients and faculty for head and neck and melanoma multidisciplinary team meetings.

Specialist Plastic Surgeon Dr. Rughani brings a wide range of surgical skills to his practice at Brisbane Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery but is particularly interested in skin cancer excision and reconstructive cancer and trauma cases.
Dr Rughani performs skin cancer/lesion removal procedures in south-east Queensland, and has over 5 years experience performing major surgery for cancer and trauma patients.
Medicare rebates are generally available for skin lesion excision procedures at Brisbane Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. To qualify for medicare rebates, all patients are required to obtain a GP referral prior to attending a consultation.

Skin Cancer Consultations
You will be required to attend an initial consultation with Dr Rughani for any skin lesion/s concerns. The fee for this consultation is $250.
If you have a Medicare card you may be eligible for a medical rebate if you have a valid referral letter from you GP or Specialist.
Reconstructive & Cosmetic Consultations
You will typically have two (2) consultations with Dr Rughani for any reconstructive or cosmetic surgery procedure. Your first consultation will take approximately 40 minutes depending on the procedure you are interested in and will cost $300.
Your second consultation is an opportunity to ask your surgeon any additional questions you may have pertaining to your upcoming surgery. This appointment will be shorter than your initial appointment and is at no extra cost.
